Thanks Susie Whatley for this great site! Been waiting on it for a long time.
Illinois Statewide Marriage Index, 1763–1900
An Ongoing Project of the Illinois State Archives &
the Illinois State Genealogical Society
http://www2.sos.state.il.us/cgi-bin/marriage
This project IS as it says, ongoing (incomplete). This Index takes
patience and fortitude. Similar spellings are not grouped together. Exact
spelling as it appears in the record is required. A problem when one has
found 17 variations of a surname spelling (and there may be others). Then
you have to check the surname for both bride and groom. Complain, complain.
Just can't make everybody happy.
There is one for EARLY Indiana, but only to 1850, Complain, complain.
However, the records are more easily accessible.

Does anyone know of other state marriage records online? I need something
else to complain about. LOL
