Maxine,
Unfortunately I don't have anything on a Mary Moon who married a Smithson.
However, on 15 June 1846 Mary Smithson (formerly Moon) condemned her marriage
out of unity at the Newberry Monthly Meeting in Clinton Co., OH. This is from
Volume V, Page 432 of Henshaw's "Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy"

Subject: [Q-R] Religious Visits
> The Quaker Monthly Meeting minutes often mention various members of the
meeting who went on "Religious Visits" to other meetings. For example, my
ancestor Henry MOON, a member of Newberry MM, Clinton Co., OH accompanied
Calvin WASSON on "Religious Visits" to the meetings in the Alum Creek
Quarterly Meeting, NC. A later entry said Henry produced minutes of the
Alum Creek meetings and other meetings attended while coming and going.
>
> Does anyone know the nature of these "Religious Visits"? What were they
to do? Why was the home meeting interested in the minutes?
