That sign recognized Lincoln as the first all rural consolidated school in
the
country. It was placed there in 1941. That was Lincoln's big claim to fame.

Thanks for all of the memory-jogging information. Each one of those
old
school names brought a memory of basketball season. What fun it used to
be!
And what rivalry!
The mention of Lincoln stirs something special about the school. I recall
it was west of Winchester, on SR 32, and that there was some kind of
plaque
denoting its special status. Can anyone tell me what it was?
