Janet --
When I first read your email, I was hoping this was another case of brick walls
being built in the wrong place. Westville is in La Porte County, Indiana
(although not far from the border with Porter County). The on-line listing of
the Westville Cemetery at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~inlpccem/cemeteries/Westville.htm
lists only a Margaret Hamilton died 1915, plot owner Bert Hamilton.
I think the next step depends on whether these names are familiar to you from
your research, and whether someone else more knowledgeable can jump in to clear
it up quickly.
If not, then the question also arises whether you have better evidence for
"Westville" or for "Porter County," or (perhaps most likely) Mr.
Hamilton lived
just inside the Porter County line but traded in Westville.
I live in La Porte County but have been meaning to visit the Porter County
Public Library in Valparaiso, which has a card index of county deaths 1884-
1927, so I'd be happy to do a lookup there in a day or two.

Hi, I have an Alexander Hamilton born 17 Oct 1824 in Virginia, died 08 Aug 1904 in
Westville, Porter County, IN.
Am trying to locate his place of burial, and haven't been lucky so far. Think that he
may have been buried in Westpoint Cemetery, but have no way to look it up. I've been
digging through all of the regular websites - Findagrave, Interment,
Ancestry.com and the
files on USGenweb, but no luck. My local genealogy library here in the Houston area, is
great, but not real heavy on the northern middle states.
If anyone has access to cemetery records for Porter County, Indiana I'd really
appreciate a lookup if possible.
Thanks!
