Hello...

Obituary: Obituary 1: The funeral of Mrs. Anice C. Fox occurs at Cole's school-house
today. Obituary 2: Died--In Liberty Township Sunday night, March 15th, Mrs. Anice C. Fox,
in the 78th year of her age. Mrs. Fox, with her family, moved from New York to this place
30 years ago, which has been her residence since. She was a thorough christian lady,
beloved by all who knew her. She was the wife of Jaby C. Fox.
Obituary Source: Obituary 1: The Tribune, Chesterton, Porter County, Indiana; March 19,
1885; Volume 1, Number 51, Page 1, Column 2 Obituary 2: The Tribune, Chesterton, Porter
County, Indiana; March 19, 1885; Volume 1, Number 51, Page 5, Column 2"
Her tombstone said born in "New Haven"... No reference as to whether that was
town or county... Apparently county. She married Jabez G. Fox in Roxbury, March 06, 1833
according to family records. No official record in Roxbury, however...
They census traced to Lumberland, Sullivan, New York in 1840 and then to Indiana...
Both she and Jabez have been a major brick wall... Jabez may forever be buried... Surely
he's tied to the other "Jabbies" Fox, but no way to tell just how...
So, you say Purnett was a brother to Butler? So, would that be Butler "Jr."?
Anice was a sister to Abel's son Butler, and an aunt to Purnett, (Born September 28,
1842) as we see it...
Continued good luck with your research...
;0))
