Hello
This man does have me quite bamboozled and leading me a merry chase.
The family story is that William Edmund / Edmond WALKER was born in
Valparaiso, Porter County, Indiana and his parents were Richard Charles
and Jean Isabel WALKER. (no maiden name is known).
Either the family or just William said on the Canadian 1921 census that he
came to Canada in 1906. On December 24, 1914, he enlisted for WW1 in
Saskatchewan and I do have a copy of his Attestation paper.
On there, he put his birth date as August 28, 1892 and named his father as
Charles so suspect the father used his 2nd name.
I have checked the U.S. 1900 census a few times but he is not there and
I did
look at ordering a birth cert but it requires the mothers maiden name
which we
have no idea about.
Think he is on the Canadian 1911 census in Saskatchewan but the page is
quite bad and can only make out the name William Walker, Male, Single
and a Labourer. No age or birth place are readable.
Basically, can follow him from 1914 to his death in 1957 in Saskatchewan
but nothing before this but his death had his age as 63 ???
Any further ideas would be very appreciated.
