Here's an additional obituary for Clayton Starn....
Son of Pastor Starn Killed In So. Pacific
Word that their son, Clayton Starn, U. S. Naval Reserve, had been killed in action in the
South Pacific, has been received by Rev. and Mrs. Oliver C. Starn, 506 Lafayette street.
Rev. Starn is pastor of the local Presbyterian church.
Young Starn was a member of a crew of a U. S. warship and had been in the South Pacific
war theater for the last two years.
He enlisted while his parents were living in Terre Haute, where his father was
Presbyterian pastor. He received his boot training at Great Lakes Naval Training station
and upon graduation was sent to the South Pacific.
Besides his parents he is survived by a sister, Miss Vula Starn, a teacher in the Spencer,
Ind., schools. He would have been 24 years of age next January.
