I'm hoping someone can help me as I've exhausted my resources.I'm trying to
locate some information about my great grandmother's parents. Here's what I
know:
Mary D. Rock was my great grandmother. She was either born 17 Nov 1861 in Pike County, IL
(according to Porter County Death Index) or 1859 (according to her headstone). She
married Andrew Henry Reibly on 31 May 1880 in Porter County, IN and died on 28 Apr 1914 in
Valparaiso, Porter, IN.
Mary's brother was Jedda (or Judson) C. Rock. He was born 26 Feb 1858 in Valparaiso,
Porter, IN. He married Isabella (or Elizabeth Belle) Langs, daughter of Nelson L. and
Elizabeth (Sands) Langs, on 18 Nov 1891 in Brantford, Ontario. Jedda died on 4 Oct 1940
in Valparaiso, Porter, IN.
Mary D. Rock's parents were Nathan (or Lewis) Rock and Calista (or Calixte) A.
Bushore. I have no information for Nathan, other than that he was possibly born in
Canada.
Calista A. Bushore was either born in 1836 in Coopersville (formerly Corbeau), Clinton,
New York or on 19 May 1837 in Québec, Canada. Calista's parents were Vetal
Bushore/Bouchard and Marie-Anne Trahan (both from Ontario). Calista married 2nd Victor
Barcome/Barkum on 6 Oct 1868 in Valparaiso, Porter, IN. I read that she died in 1892 in
Somme, Picardie, France, but I have no documentation of that.
Any information about Nathan (or Lewis) Rock would be greatly appreciated. I'm also
wondering if anyone can confirm the details of Calista's death (date and place).
Finally, if anyone can tell me if Jedda and Belle had any children, I would greatly
appreciate that as well.
Thanks, in advance, for any assistance!
