Hi Everyone,
A good place to start your genealogy search in Porter County, is the Porter
County Public Library. It is one of the three best library sites in
Indiana--and it's right in our own back door, if you live in NW Indiana.
Larry Clark is head of the genealogy department.
Good Hunting,
Ken Curtis

Let me introduce myself, I'm Lisa Smalley and I started this list as I
have
several ancestor's from or who passed through Porter county,
Indiana.
I am in hopes that the list will not only generate queries, but also
history
of Porter county and places to write to for records.
I have had some wonderful help from the volunteers of the NorthWest
Indiana
Genealgical Soceity, and I encourage everyone to support them.
I will throw out the first question.
Are all of the marriage records preserved for Porter county and where can
an
index be found? Also where do we write to for copies?
