Here's a bit about a Matthias Seberger:
from p.780 History of LaPorte County ,by Charles C. Chapman 1880
"OTIS
The settlement of this place was commenced in 1851, but no plat of the town was
made or recorded until 1870 which was the same year the town survey was
made.....Otis was first known as Salem Crossing. This name was given to it by
the Michigan Southern Railroad and when the postoffice was establiahed and
Matthias Seberger appointed postmaster, that name was adopted by the Department

in 1851."

Is there anyone who has any datas about SEEBERGER, SEBERGER, SEBURGER and variations?
Any help is appreciated to find all family members who imigrated from Germany,
Switzerland or Austria.
Because I am researching all the different families, all mosaic pieces about all families
are welcome.
