I am sending this information out to the list because the person who has the
The Haverty Family as of 4Jan02, a William HAVERTY, with this below
information I quoted, email does not exist anymore. So I am hoping that
someone can give some input on the information he has.
Read Below:
The Haverty Family as of 4Jan02
John SKINNER appears in the SKINNER Kinsmen, the son of John SKINNER and
Eunice of Colchester, Conn. The John who settled in Bakersfield married
Huldah Treadwell, probably in Williamstown, Mass., moved to Bakersfield in
about 1806, when he purchased 100 acres of land, later know as "Skinner
Hill". The Skinner Kinsmen does not list any of John and Huldah's children.
This man says he has an ancestor by the name of John Richard SKINNER, whose
obit indicates that he was born in 1808 in Bakersfield. He said he checked
the U.S. census information , and only one SKINNER family living in
Bakersfield in 1810--John SKINNER. The census indicates that there was one
male child under ten years of age. He says he has a deed dated 1829 between
John SKINNER and John Richard SKINNER; the first John sold 55 arces to John
Richard for $500. He wants to prove or disprove that John Richard SKINNER was
the elder John's son. He said he also confirmed a number of other children
for John and Huldah: Renesselar, Charles, Amanda, Charlotte and Arville. He
said another one might be named Milton.
Does anyone have anything supporting this information?
thanks and God Bless
