Surname: MUSTER, KOENSLER, FANNING
-------------------------
I am searching for descendant-relatives of Samuel MUSTER, b. 1828 in Densburen,
Kt. Aargau, Switzerland and his wife Susanne KOENSLER, b. c1830 in Kt.
Zurich. They emigrated to NY in 1864 and moved to Valparaiso, Porter County,
IN around 1880. Samuel was a carpenter. He died in 1891 and Susanne died
in 1905. They are both buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Valparaiso.
Their daughter, Sophie M. MUSTER, b. 1866 in NY was my grandmother. She
married John P. FANNING in 1886 in Pullman, IL. They lived in Chicago and
raised their family there. But they must have had strong feelings for Valparaiso
for both Sophia and John P. are buried in St. Paul Cemetery, Valparaiso,
next to their eldest child who died as a teenager.
I keep thinking there must have been some relatives in the Valpo area for
Samuel and Susanne to have come all the way to Indiana from NY. Or at least
some Swiss "from the old country" or the "old Kanton" whom they knew.
Any possible connections or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Judy
