=====================
JUDGE WILLIAM C. TALCOTT DEAD
End Came at 8:30 Tuesday Morning -- Resided in Valparaiso Over Sixty Years.
Judge William C. Talcott, the venerable journalist and jurist, died suddenly at 8:30
o'clock Tuesday morning at the home of his son, Joseph F. Talcott, where he and his
wife had apartments. Death came while he was at the breakfast table, he being suddenly
seized with a severe coughing spell, and before a physician could arrive at his side he
passed away.
Judge Talcott was one of the pioneer residents of Valparaiso, and did much in building up
the city, where he had resided over a half century. He was a good citizen and enjoyed the
respect of the entire community. In all his various undertakings he labored to do what he
thought best for the welfare of his fellowmen. He was above all a man of conscience and of
noble purpose.
The funeral will be held from his late home on Friday.
