Pauper Weather
Free trade in ice is likely to ruin the industry in this country. The
pauper cold weather in Norway freezes harder and at less expense than
highly educated and warmly clad New England winter, and some of the
product has actually cast a chill over this part of American industry.
What the ice men need is protection which shall at least make up for the
lower range of the thermometer in Norway and the cheaper wages of
Norwegian labor. Shall we be dependent on a foreign country for ice?

New Music
We have received from the publishers, "Stay Silver Moon," a new and
beautiful serenade song by W. N. Gates, which we can heartily recommend
to our readers. The title page is embellished with a view of Mackinac
Island, the favorite summer resort of the West, and both words and
melody of the song are unusually fine. Send 40 cts. to H. M. Brainard &
Co., Cleveland, Ohio, and receive copy by mail.
Evangeline Grand March, by Geo. Schleiffarth, is the finest march for
Piano or Organ published. Any music dealer will mail it to you on
receipt of price, 40 cents, or the publisher, P. M. Wolsleffer, 665,
Sedgwich St., Chicago, Ill, will send you a sample copy on receipt of 25
cents. His late lists of new music sent to any address free.
