The Valparaiso newspaper is a daily paper. Do you know how many newspapers you would have
to go through to find this info and then maybe it's not there. Many women married
pregnant and did not have notices put in. Nor when their child was born because people
would start counting months. You could get the Valparaiso newspaper in through
interlibrary loan and do it yourself. I have done this many times.
Did you ask for a name of someone who could do this for you? The library or Northwest
Indiana Genealogical Society could probably give you a name. This will not be free. You
cannot expect a library to do this even for money. The Porter Co library system is in
financial trouble due to Bethlehem Steel declaring bankrupcy this last November. The
Westchester Twp Library in Chesterton is also deeply affected. If you don't have your
grandfather's obit, you need it. You did not say when/where he died. It should give
his son's name and location. If you don't have it, it should be somewhat easy to
get if you have a close date. Obits are wonderful references.
