The Niagara Excursionists left last Monday, bright and early. There was
quite a crowd of them.
Ed Green made Chesterton a flying visit the other day. Ed now makes
Laporte his headquarters.
Dr. Mullen of Michigan City was in town Saturday. He is attending
several patients in this vicinity.
Rev. Father Beck, of Michigan City, was in town Thursday. The guest of
Father Kroll.
Martin Flannery will apply to the Commissioners at their September term
of court for a license to run a saloon at Wheeler.
Now let some one arise to explain that the present epidemic at Hageman
was brought on by the election of a democratic president.
Mr. R. B. Lansing, Mrs. Marr, Mrs. Hillstrom, Mrs. Lindgreen, and Mrs.
F. J. Johnson, went Saturday to Laporte to witness the demonstrations.
They report a very pleasant time.
Indiana hopes to harvest 100,000,000 bushels of corn with good weather,
this year. This will be the largest yield for ten years. The state has
4,000,000 acres planted which is nearly 320,000 more than 70 percent of
an average.
