Following are the "Social Notes" for Burdick, Indiana, circa June 23, 1909.
Most likely these are from The Chesterton Tribune. The column heading says "Matters

of Porter County Telling Who Is Who and What Is Taking Place.
BURDICK
Mr. and Mrs. William TIMMONS and children were in New Buffalo, Michigan, last Sunday,
the guests of Mrs. TIMMON's parents.
Mrs. E. T. LOUDEN and children of Chicago, are visiting at the home of Lyman FRAME.
Mrs. Grace YOUNG and daughters, of Valparaiso, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
[George] PRATT.
Mrs. and Mrs. Henry FULLER, of Chesterton, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John M.
GOODWIN.
Allen FRAME and sister, Mrs. E. T. LOUDEN, were in Valparaiso Sunday, the guests of
Miss Flossie FRAME who is attending normal school at that place.
Last Wednesday afternoon and evening the many relatives and friends of Franz
WIESEMANN, one of Porter County's oldest residents, gathered at his home about two and
one-half miles south of this place, to remind him of his 81st birthday. Music and singing
were the principal features of the day and at 8 o'clock an excellent four course
supper was served. The guests numbered about seventy-five, including relatives from
Valparaiso, Chesterton and this vicinity. All departed at a late hour wishing Mr.
WEISEMANN [sic] many more happy birthdays.
Mrs. Geo. [George] SHANER and sister, Mrs. BERT of Chesterton, spent the week in this
vicinity, the guests of relatives.
The Air Line unloaded a number of dump cars at Burdick last Saturday, which will be
used in the building of the line.
