Hi Shelley,
This John, born abt 1735, could be the brother to Margaret Jane Flemming,
b. 1733 who was a daughter of Jacob and Catherine "Kittury" Hesser
Flemming. The Flemming family was in Porter County, Indiana. Jacob's
father, John, moved to Porter county, Indiana with his wife and 9 children.
John died there in Porter County, I believe.
Margaret Jane married Edward Brown in 1851 in Porter County, Indiana and
Edward died in Porter County - Margaret died much later in Chicago.
Edward's brother, Daniel Clinton Brown (my direct line) moved to Lancaster
County, Nebraska about 1862 with some other Brown relatives. Looks like
some of the Flemmings moved up there also.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Maggie FLEMING which was taken at the
Hayden Studio in Lincoln, Nebraska. The photograph appears to have been
taken in the 1880's with Maggie appearing to be in her teens or 20's at
the
time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the
following census information and a possible match:
1880 census of Lincoln, NE:
John FLEMING, age 45, born NC, a Carpenter, parents born NC
Mrs. FLEMING, wife, age 41, born OH, Keeps House, parents born England
Margaret FLEMING, dau, age 14, born OH, at School
Robert FLEMING, son, age 11, born OH, at School
James FLEMING, son, age 9, born OH, at School
Nellie FLEMING, dau, age 6, born OH, at School
I am hoping to locate someone from her family so that this wonderful old
photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member
of this family, or if you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
