My library was recently able to obtain a microfilm of early issues of the
Chesterton Tribune.
I will be attempting to type some of the local columns and post to this
list. I am not researching these names, just posting the info. I find them
quite interesting. I also find some of the advertising to be as interesting
as the items, so a few ads may be included. This will be posted in
portions, as each column is a bit lengthy.

Gust Johnson, the hotel man, is quite sick with pneumonia.

Miss Phene Johnson, Baillytown, is reported as being quite sick.
Jas. McGillicuddy of Valparaiso, gave us a call Wednesday last.
Constable Childs of Valparaiso was in town Monday on legal business.

Ed Schaper is putting down a sidewalk in front of his store on the north
side.
Miss Emily Brummitt, of Furnessville, spent Monday among her friends in
Chesterton.
P. E. and Thomas W. Miles have sold to Vincent Tratebas lot 1, block 1, in
Chesterton.
Swan Nilson's artistic brush is decorating the interior of Mr. Geo. Morgan's
elegant house.
We need a little money. Will those of our subscrivbers who are in the
arrears please come and settle.
Emerson Bowser who has been visiting his parents, in Valparaiso, the past
few days, has returned.
There will be a race between fast skaters next Saturday night at the
Imperial rink. All are invited to attend.
The farmers who held their wheat feel better now on account of the
substantial advance in the price of that grain.
