I checked through my obituary/death notice database and found the
following THATCHERs, including your William THATCHER:

Death of an Old Settler.
William Thatcher died yesterday afternoon at his residence, of atrophy,
after a painful illness of 6 weeks, in the 87th year of his age. He was
born in Kentucky on March 16, 1799, moved to Ohio in 1835, then moved to
Clinton county, Ind., and came to Porter county in 1852, where he lived
ever since. He leaves 5 children and a widow his 3d wife surviving him.
Shortly before his death he made complete arrangements for his funeral,
requesting that he be buried in a plain coffin and without any
ostentation. The funeral will take place from the Baptist church to
morrow afternoon Rev. L. N. Norton of Logansport officiating.

COUNTY SEAT NEWS.
Mrs. Deborah Thatcher aged 88 years died suddenly at the home of her
step-son in this city Saturday night. The funeral was held from the
Christian church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. H. O. Smith

The funeral services of Daisy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Thatcher,
took place yesterday forenoon at 10:30 o'clock at the residence of her
father, north of town, Elder E. S. Riley conducting. Daisy was a bright
little girl of four years, and was the center of attraction in the
family. Their loss is severely felt by every member of the family.
