Mrs. Ruth Quinn, widow of the late Wm. Quinn, who passed way Saturday, April 13th, died
this morning at 6:20 o'clock in her eighty-third year, at her home on South Lafayette
street. Mrs. Quinn was taken ill during the funeral of her husband as a result of the
shock caused by his sudden demise, and was compelled to take to her bed. She gradually
grew weaker until death relieved her.
With her husband, Mrs. Quinn came here from Ohio in 1853. They were married in 1843 and
had lived together as husband and wife for sixty-four years. Their fiftieth wedding
anniversary was celebrated in 1893.
Nine children, as follows, are left to mourn: George Quinn, Glenwood, Ia.; Elvira Baker,
Valparaiso; Luman Quinn, Owensburg, Ky.; Mary Morrison, Ipava, Ill.; Frank Quinn, Omaha,
Neb.; Alma Danforth, Valparaiso; Emma Reeves, Texico, N.M.; Wm. Quinn, Jr., Omaha, Neb.;
Schuyler Quinn, South Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Bessie Gossett of this city, is a grand-daughter.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the home, conducted by
Rev H. L. Davis. The pallbearers will be the same as acted at the funeral of Mr. Quinn -
Geo. Fox, Milan NcNiece, Wm. Winslow, Frank Jones, Chas. Quinn and Wm. Quinn.

Mrs. William Quinn, for over sixty years a resident of Valparaiso, passed away at her home
on South Lafayette street, this morning at 6:30 o'clock.
Though Mrs. Quinn had been in poor health for some time her death was no doubt hastened by
the sudden death of her husband, which occurred on April 13th last.
Mrs. Quinn was 83 years old and was born in Ohio and came here with her husband in 1852.
She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Vira Baker, of this city; Mrs. Mary Morrison, of Ipavia,
Ill.; Mrs. Emma Reeves, of Texico, New Mexico, and Mrs. Alma Danforth, of this city, and
five sons, George, of Glenwood, Iowa; Luman, of Owensburg, Ky.; Frank, William and
Schuyler, of South Omaha, Neb.
The funeral will be held from her late home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
