I can add that Walter Barnes was also a Civil War veteran from that area.
He served with the 12th Indiana Cavalry.

Hi Ron,
Did a quick search on google and dogpile. "Valpo Blues" doesn't come up
but I did find a
"Lytle" and a "Levi White" in a Civil War site in
Iowa. Could it be
related to that?
Just another idea.

In a summary of an article from one of the old Valparaiso newspapers (ca
1880), there is a list of members of the "Valpo Blues". Would like to
learn
the nature of the organization.....was it a sports team, lodge or
something
else?
Individuals listed as members include: Capt. Lytle, Charles Douglas, Levi
White, Will Gardner, Morgan Skinner, Wm. C. Wells, Wood Hewitt, Stephan
Finney, Frank Benham, Min Bell, Geo. Carr, Frank Thompson, Walter Barnes,
W.E. Brown.
Thanks,
Ron
