Informational purposes; not related to this family. In June, 1933, the fourth man involved, Lester Gleason, was apprehended by the FBI in Pittsburgh and, in September, was sentenced to prison for the robbery.

KOUTS BANDITS GET TEN YEARS
Two East Gary men, members of
respectable families, stood before
Judge Mark B. Rockwell in Porter
superior court this morning and
heard the ominous words that sentenced
them to ten hard years in
the Indiana state prison north at
Michigan City.
The two men were Floyd Curtis,
31, and Leonard Martin, 36, who
with Joseph Mansfield, of Kouts,
perpetrated the holdup of the Gust
Wandrey home at Kouts on April
25, in which the gang secured $500
n money.
According to Sheriff Neil Fry and
Chief Deputy Ezra Stoner, the trio
tied up Mr. and Mrs. Wandrey and
tortured them until they revealed the
hiding place of the money. When
Roy Wandrey, a son, happened on
the scene and resisted the gang
Martin fired a shot which wounded
Wandrey in the leg.
Both men entered pleas of guil-
ty when arraigned before Judge
Rockwell this morning. When they
heard the sentence to be imposed on
them, Curtis wanted to talk with an
attorney before he received sentence.
Judge Rockwell informed them
he would withhold sentence ahd
give them time to confer with an
attorney. He informed them that
under the law governing robbery, the
penalty was from 10 to 20 years,
and he had assessed the minimum
sentence under the law, ten years.

I am the great-grandaughter to Michael Reich, this would be William Reich's brother.
Hope you can help in my research.

William Reich was my grandfather. I'm not sure how Michael Reich was related. My family came from Germany to France to Lake, Co. Indiana.
I'm interested in how we are related.
