Surname: Marquardt
-------------------------
Hello. You wouldn't by chance no of a John Henry and Anna Margaretha (Offt)
Marquardt? John and Anna were married in 1853 in Germany. Between 1858
and 1862 they came to live in Valparaiso, IN. They eventually moved to
Crawford County, Iowa where they passed away. Their children were:
1. Peter Henry Marquardt b. 1855 in Handerau, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany;
md. Minnie Gehring; d. 1921 Crawford County, Iowa
2. Anna Margaretha "Margaret" Marquardt b. 1858 in Handerau; m. Fred Jepsen;
d. 1936 Crawford County, Iowa
3. William Marquardt b. 1862 in Valparaiso, IN; md. Johanna Kemming in
Iowa; d.1949 in Crawford County, Iowa
4. Mary Marquardt b. ?; married Claus Ullrich who died in Crawford County
Now I realize you may not recognize the children's names since it seems
they must relocated to Iowa before they were grown, but I thought you might
have some connection to their father, John Henry. I no nothing of his parents
or possible siblings, and thought he may have had family in Porter County
to come to with his young family.
Let me know what you think. Thanks.

They had 4 children:

Surname: Mathews, Warner
-------------------------
I am looking for any information on a man by the name of MATHEWS, Hiram
W. who married WARNER, Ruth Anna/Annah in Porter Co., on 3/11/1855. If
he is the same gentleman that I am looking for he was born in Indiana about
1828-1829, leaving Indiana around 1857. The rumor is that our Hiram was
married to his first wife and she and the infant died in childbirth and
he left the state to settle in Kansas and remarry and started a new life.
The other part of the rumor is he left the Mathews family behind because
they fought for different sides of the civil war. If you know anything
about my mystery gentleman or his family, please write me at TRPIPER(a)aol.com
Thanks so much.
