Sandy,it's Judy Tweedy here.? Just wondered if you might? have any info on where
Dessick Walker's first wife,Prudence Mayo Walker is buried.? She was his first of 6 or
7,and the mother of all of? his children.? He is buried next to his last wife? She might
be in Dubois county as I think that the next one or two were also married to him there?
Think Prudy probably died about the time his youngest child was born? She died about
1856.? I know that the children were b in Dubois, and daughter,Elzina and Hugh? Beard?
married there in Dubois, but both families moved to Pike sometime after their marriage?
Also Dessick's sister Louisa Walker who m John Hurt.? I actualy knew her,and have
pictures of her.? They were in Pike County.? They are buried? in Williams Cemetery which
was a cemetery that my mom's cousin donated land for, which was on my grandpa's
side,so how did grandma's kin get in there,or why did they have them buried there.? Is
there anther connection?? It was donated by Lyde !
Riley Williams who was the d/o Kel?Williams?and? Mary Ellen Hughes Williams.? Sister to
my grandpa HIram Corinth Hughes.? Dessick Walker? was my grandma's grandpa? Daughter
Elzina Walker m Hugh Beard.
It is so awfully hard to learn anything about Dubois County Cemeteries.
Thanks Judy

From Petersburg take 356 out to Alford. Where the highway curves to
the
right go straight on the gravel road (475N). After you pass the big electric
tower on the right take the first little gravel road on the left. (just over
the hill) It looks like a lane going back to a field. The road leads to the
cemetery.
