Pike County Democrat 26 June 1908 - Philip Catt died at his home in the west
end this morning about 6 o'clock after an illness of long duration. Mr. Catt
has been suffering from dropsy of the heart and a complication of internal
diseases for a number of years. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn
his death. At the time of his death Mr. Catt was sixty-one years old. The
children are James, thomas R, and Benjamin H. Catt, who live here and Mrs.
Grant Cook of Petersburg. The family has lived here for about two years,
coming here from Petersburg. The body of Mr. Catt will be taken to
Petersburg on the 8:47 E. & I. train tomight. The funeral will be at the
Pleasant Hill church near Petersburg and burial will be in the Catt
cemetery.----Washington Democrat (This had been a news item in the

Pike County Democrat 3 July 1908 - A large number of relatives and friends
gathered at the home of John B. Catt, near the Odel school house in clay
township, last Sunday morning with well-filled baskets, to help celebrate
the 71st birthday anniversary of Mrs. Catt, one of the best ladies of that
township. At the noon hour a splendid dinner was served to all those
present. the day was pleasantly spent and the guests departed for their
homes, wishing Mrs. Catt many more such happy anniversaries. those of this
place who attended were Perry, Simon and Lawrence Loveless and Miss May
Loveless.
