George:
There isn't nearly as much activity on this list as some others. I guess
there just aren't as many of us interested in Pike Co.
I'm sure we are working on the same line, although the spelling is now
Ropp. I know that well because that's my maiden name! The story is that
it was Rapp in Germany and they changed the spelling to keep the
pronunciation the same when they immigrated.
Here is my line: Jacob RAPP, b. 1804, d. 1875, married Barbara KELLER,
b. 1811, d. 1867. Children: Barbara, Jacob Jr., Magdalena, Michael,
Mary, Charlotte, George, Harriett.
Jacob ROPP, Jr., b. 1838, d. 1886, married Barbara MCATEE, b. 18l43, d.
1890. Children: Hattie, William, Mary, Gus, Tina, Thomas, Gertrude,
Warner.
William ROPP, b. 1868, d. 1925, married Martha JOHNSON, b. 1863, d.,
1893. Children: Ralph, Sewell, Azel, Clarence.
Azel Marion ROPP, b. 1899, d. 1989, married Hazel HUNT, b. 1897, d. 1897.
Children: Ervin, Irene, Carl.
Carl ROPP, b. 1928, married Voris LUSK, b. 1928. Children: Carl Joel,
Teresa, Sara, Edward.
I am also researching Pike Co. for my mother's side: DORSEY, BOLLING,
EVANS, LUSK.
