I also would like a copy of the 1894 Souvenir of Petersburg, IN, but like the
others, my email to Sandy did not go through. Please advise as to how to forward
the price and also how to get on the list to receive same.
Thank you. Suzanne Branham

List Members,
I went to the local Catfish Festival last night and picked up a reprint of a
history book which might interest many of you.
It is a reprint of the "Souvenir of Petersburg, Indiana with Glimpses in
Pike Co. 1894". This booklet measures 8 1/2 X 6" and has approximately 60
pages. It is full of pictures of the early homes, churches and businesses in
Petersburg. There are only a few pictures out of Petersburg, such as homes
in other townships and two pics from Winslow. It also has a listing of the
businesses and owners during that time period.
The book was reprinted by the Friends of Randy Harris Committee (Randy is
running for re-election as mayor of Petersburg) and "sells" as a
contribution of five dollars.
I will be going back to the festival on Saturday (Sept. 14) to pick up some
of these books for other history/genealogy friends whom I have contacted to
let them know it is available. If any of you want a copy of this book let me
know asap and I will be glad to pick one up for you. Cost will be $5.00 and
I think I can mail it in a mailing envelope for approx $1.00.
Some of the pics are of: Main St. Petersburg, P.C. Orphans Home, Cumberland
Presbyterian Church & parsonage, Bergen & Oliphant Drugs, Shawhan & Boonshot
Hardware, Dering Bro. Sawmill, homes of Richardson, Brumfield, Young, Reed,
Osborn, Haines, Lamb, Adams,King, Hargrave, Limp, Dorf,Frank, Shawhan,
Williams, Van Nada House, Link,Gunckel, Parker, Dillon, Thornton, Posey,
Snyder,Boonshot, Ely, Byers, Martin, LaMar, McBay, Glezen, Nichols, Adams,
Tucker, etc. as well as most of the Main Street businesses, coal mine,
hotels, pics taken from each direction from the top of the courthouse, and
many more. Pictures of the individual business owners and public officials
are also included as is a pic of the P. C. school teachers at the time(group
shot) and the The Petersburg Stars baseball team.

I tried to email you directly, but it bounced for some reason. Would you
happen to know if there are any mentions of the Miley family in the
souvenier program?
