In reseaching the Cox and Black families I bound in the Pleasant Grove
cemetery a listing for Minerva Black born 5-20-1830 and died 12-26-1872
wife of J.P. Also Black, sons, d. 7-29-1869 - inf sons of John P. & M.
Then James R. Black born 9-10-1875 - 1 year 1 mo and 10 days infant son of
Toliver & Wingy.
Toliver and Wingy and other Black families migrated from Pike Co., to
Jefferson Co., NE. 90% were all rail roaders. My g-grandmother was
Minerva Ann Black and I am trying to find her parents. She was called Mima.
Toliver had a son called Toliver and they called him "Tollie."
Any help would be appreciated as the above Minerva is the only one I feel
my grandmother was named after. Mima Black married William "David" Cox and
his parents are Samuel D. and Mary Stevens. Have death certificate to
verify and census of Daykin, Eureka Twp., Jefferson Co. Ne for the rest of
the Blacks.
Thank you
