Subject: Fleener & Riley lines
Bill:
I have the following:
Charles Edgar RILEY b1900 married Anna Grace SHOAF b 1907 married in 1926 - Oakland
City, Gibson County, IND. Both Charles and Anna were born in Pike Co, IN.
Charles is the son of Cyrus McClellan Riley and Mary Ellen Hughes (my maternal
grandparents). Anna is the dau of Trey Harrison Shoaf and Virgie Hale.
This is the only connection I have to the RILEY/SHOAF names.
FLEENER/FLEENOR Yes, they are connected. All came from Washington County, VA. I may
have some info on this. Since I am having company arriving this week will have to check
my files further to make any connections.

Your Response:
We may have some connections to support your theory that everyone in Pike county was
somehow related to everyone else. I'm not sure how you're Riley line ties into my
Barrett line, but I have a William Riley Milton Barrett (m. Thelda Francis Drew) in my
line...he was the son of my great-grandfather Elijah Robert Barrett and great grandmother
Evaline Shoaf (not sure how the names Riley and Milton made it into William's names).
I also have some Fleenors in my father's line. The spelling might be different, but
we still may be connected given various spellings of surnames. My Fleenors are Chloe (my
great grandmother - m. Elmer Morris), daughter of Alfred Milton Fleenor and Andromeda
Hodgins. Alfred was the son of Squire Fleenor and Susan Payne.
If any of this seems to tie to your lines, maybe we can share info.
Thanks,
Bill Morris
