Subject: Re: [INPIKE] Spurgeon Cemetery
Hi Dan,
Thanks for responding to my message. No, I don't have a copy of the
book you mentioned. I am looking for my great grandmother, Arvilla (FARMER)
DAVIS, who died in March, 1892, at the age of 26 years. She left her
husband and two small children, my grandfather being only 14 months old. I
have looked for an obit, death certificate, in cemeteries. NOTHING. Someone
told me that it was in that period that doctors were revolting against
having to do all of the "paper work" on deaths, and they simply didn't do
it. I don't know if that is true or not, but it may be in this case. There
are 3 generations of the DAVIS family in Spurgeon Cemetery, but she is not
among them. She was born in Gibson County, and I have looked in cemeteries
there, thinking she was buried with relatives. No luck. The family lived in
Spurgeon at the time of her death. I would be greatful if you could see if
she is listed in your book.
Sincerely,
Joyce Strong
