I am researching the family lineage of William David Cox of Marion Twp. In
1908 He and his wife Minerva Black left IN for Daykin, Jefferson Co., NE.
David is listed in the 1900 census of Marion Twp.
Their issue is: Elmer Eugene Cox (my grandfather)
Luke Cox
Daisy Pearl Cox
Ida Cox
Other family from Marion who also migrated is: Omar Black my grandfathers
cousing and his parents Joseph and Rachel Crane Black. (Joseph & Rachel are
also in the 1900 census.
I believe that William David (he went by David) father's name is Samuel D.
Cox also of Marion. I am not sure of Minerva Blacks parents.
Other family names in Pike county (per letters to my grandfather) are:
Rome who has a grndson named Duane and a dau living in Evansville.
Rome lives @ Arthur near Winslow
Anna Miller - LKA RR2, Box 212, Remington, IN (as of 1960)
Jesse Dillion - LKA was Reynolds, IN mentions Ruthie, Aunt Sallie,
Cornell's girl lives in South Bend, IN
Any help with Samuel D. Cox born in 1832 and living in Marion Twp would help.
I believe Samuel was in the 80th Ind. Inf in the Civil War and is buried in
Flat Creek Cemetery. Family spoke a lot about a Sarah Edwards, Mary and
David, and Anna May Miller.
