Dear Lee Ann,
There may not be a connection but a Lewis Thomas was my neighbor in the
1920's to 1940's when I was growing up along Hwy 61 about a half mile
north of Winslow. This Lewis was married to Ellie Dyer, daughter of
Elmer and Mag Dyer.
They had no children. After Ellie died in the 1950's, Lewis moved to
Jasonville, Indiana. I think he had relatives up there. I would guess
this Lewis Thomas to have been born about 1890, or before.
Best wishes,
Ken Lindsay - Evansville, Indiana

Subject: George and Lewis Thomas, Virginia and Kentucky
Hello! I have been at a brickwall for quite a while on my Lewis
Thomas who
was born in Kentucky, married Sarah/Sally Alexander (daughter of
Isaac
Alexander) February 4th, 1809 in Mercer County, Kentucky (I believe
the
area it was in is now in Boyle County, Kentucky). On the marriage
certificate it said the grooms father name was George. According to
burial
information he was born April 24th, 1788 in Virginia. We do not know
where
in Virginia. He died on May 5th, 1859 in Pike County, Indiana (very
near to
Petersburg). Him and Sally had a total of 13 children, one of them
being
John A. Thomas, born in Kentucky November 18th, 1809. By 1829 they
were in
Pike County, Indiana as that's where John was married to Mary
Griffith
on
March 29th, 1829. If anyone knows of these Thomas' or anything
looks
familiar, let me know. Thanks!
LeeAnn McNabb
