Reading through the microfilm I ran across this obit:
2/2/1888 -
Died at her home in Logan township, on last Friday, Mrs. Sallie McAtee, aged nineteen
years and some months. Her maiden name was Miss Sallie Wright, and the step-daughter of
our excellent citizen, Mr. John McAtee. She was married to John Kime, something more than
a year and a half ago. Some five or six weeks ago, a child was born, fever set in, and
continued in more or less degree till her death. Young accomplished, faithful, rich in
this worlds goods, she was too well prepared to live to be taken away so soon. She left
her child in the care of her husband, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McAtee.
Then I found this on:
2/10/1888 -
A mistake occured sometime ago in this paper in the name of Mrs. Kime. The name was
written Mrs. Sallie McAtee, whereas it should have been Mrs. Sallie Kime deceased.
If someone had been looking for this obit and didn't look further in the paper they
would have missed the correction.
