Pike County Democrat - February 17, 1905, John Barnett, aged 74 years, died
at his home at Littles last Sunday of lagrippe. The funeral services were
conducted Monday and interment at the Martin cemetery.
Pike County Democrat - February 17, 1905, Prentice Brenton, living near
Glezen, died last Friday, aged 38 years. The funeral services were
conducted by Rev. Chesser at the White church Sunday and interment at the
church cemetery.
Pike County Democrat - February 3, 1905, The allwise God has seen fit to
call another of his children home. Miss Avice Ethel Henning of Stendal, was
born October 8, 1889, and died January 18, 1905, aged 15 years, 3 months
and 10 days. She was the daughter of D. R. and Miranda henning. She had
lived a sad and sorrowful life during the past four and a half years - as
two brothers, a sister and herself were called to the bedside of their
dying mother, and at the time the mother claimed that Avice would be the
first one of the family to follow her. She was ill for sometime, her
disease being consumption. In life she was obedient and lovable and all
were her friends who mourn their loss.
Pike County Democrat - September 20, 1907, Died at 10:45 o'clock a.m.,
Wednesday September 18th, John M. Baker, aged 27 years and 12 days. The
funeral services were held at the M. E. church yesterday morning at 10
o'clock. Rev. Whitaitt conducting the same; interment being made at the
Walnut Hills cemetery. The deceased was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A.
F. Baker, of this city, popular with his friends, and and exemplary young
man. The bereaved family have the sympathies of our people.
Pike County Democrat - September 20, 1907, Andrew A. Shannon died at his
home at Princeton, Monday, aged 76 years. He was a brother of Sam Shannon
of Coats Springs, this county.
Pike County Democrat - October 11, 1907, Mrs. Willie A. Hays, aged 70
years, living near Rodgers, died last Sunday. Funeral services were
conducted by Rev. haines Tuesday and interment at the Anderson cemetery.
Pike County Democrat - October 11, 1907, Mrs. Betty Plantz, aged 74 years,
one of the old residents of Petersburg, died last Friday. The funeral
services were conducted by Rev. A. J. Willis at the Baptist church last
Saturday afternoon; interment at Walnut Hills cemetery.
