Dear Donna,
I am a descendant of Cooks from Pike County, but I don't know if your
Lafayette is one of them. Can you give me a little more information on him,
and I'll go through my Cooks and see if I can find him.
Judy

Donna,
Have you tried looking at the Pike County census images online that
SK-Publications
has provided? You can access them from
censusonline.com and
from the IN Genweb site. They are handwritten, I've found most of them to
be easy to read (with a few exceptions here and there). Most are broken out
by Townships, Patoka included. You can look in the 1860 and 1870 census'
(censi?) to see if he's there.
Good luck, let me know if you have any probs finding them.
