Here goes for a 2nd try. I can't find any SHEPHARD/SHEPHERD's prior to 1900
on the Perry Co Ind Census sheets. Is there an 1890 Perry Co Ind Census?
I'm looking for ANY information on SHEPHARD/SHEPHERD, VANWINKLE, JEFFERS,
CONLEY, POWELL. These are all ancestors on my grandmother, Daisy SHEPHARD
ELLIS's side starting in Vanderburgh Co then back into Perry Co.

HELP ME IF YOU CAN, this is where the history gets "fuzzy".
William Henry SHEPHARD's parents were (also) William Henry SHEPHARD born
1834 Ky, married Maggie POWELL from Ind sometime in 1854. Supposedly, Wm
Henry's father came from Wales in 1805. I have no dates or other names.
Mary A. CONLEY 's parents were Eliesbeth Weed b 1834 Alabama, d:1962
during
the Civil War while nursing on the battlefield. Father: John Tomas
FRANKEY
b 1830 came from Florence Italy at age 15 (1845) and fought on the
"the side of
the south" (confederate) during the Civil War. John Tomas' brother in
law,
Samuel Jo HOKE married Emme WEED who raised Mary A. CONLEY when
her mother, Eliesbeth WEED, was killed during the war.
I would GREATLY APPRECIATE hearing from you if you have ANY information.
Sincerely,
Klaryse Ellis Adams
