Beverly GILPATRICK was born in Overton Co. TN Oct 10, 1828. He was the
son of John GILPATRICK of Wells, Maine and Mary Ann NIMMO of Kentucky.
He married Ingebird BRADY d/o John Spencer BRADY and Mary SIMCOCK Sep
1854 in Overton Co. TN. They moved to Indiana around the start of the
Civil War. Ingebird drove the wagon across the Ohio River and Beverly
swam it, trying not to be conscripted into the Conf. Army. They settled
in/around Adyeville. Beverly served in Co I of the 53rd Reg.t of the
Indiana Vol. He died Oct 22, 1887 in Perry Co. Ingebird died Sep 19,
1899 also in Perry Co. They are buried at Possum Junction/Kitterman's
Corner cemetery on a hillside. The last time I was there, the stones had
been overturned and lying on the ground and the grass was knee high and I
did not see his military stone.
