Hi List
Just wondering if the old cotton mill in Cannelton Perry co still be there?
also the superintendent Ebenezer WILBER lived in a house that was built
at the rear of the water engine building. This is from the The Indiana Weekly
Express dated on the 22 January 1853. Would this house still be standing?
Ebenezer WILBER's wife Margaret nee JACKSON was the sister to my line,
Mrs Paul GEST ( Paul R GEST was a doctor) she was Mary Jane JACKSON.
A few people on the list have kindly given me info like 1860 census & death
dates.
I have just had the 1870 census in at the LDS where I go here in Australia
but my Mary Jane GEST must of moved to Evansville then as she is back in
Cannelton in the 1880 census with one of her married daughters Mrs Samuel
SULZER she was Amelia GEST.
On the 1870 census the Wilber's & Samuel SULZER are there, he married
Amelia in 1871 in Evansville. I have just ordered the 1870 census for Evansville
will take about a month to come in. Next I will order the 1850 as Paul died
after the 1860 census in 1861.
What I would like to know if there is anybody on the LIST living in Cannelton
who could tell me if there is anybody with the names WILBER/SCRIBNER/
COMBS/ZIMMERMAN still living there that I may contact to see if they
remember anything on the name GUEST as on the 1860 census later GEST.
Is there a Family History place in Cannelton that I could contact?
Thank you for your time.
Jennette GEST nee BYRNE
