The Ohio River belongs to Kentucky. As far as where the death would have
been recorded, you might try Tell City. Actually, Cannelton. Department of
Vital Statistics, I think. Anyway, the number is (812)547-2746.

Subject: [INPERRY] Death on the Ohio River // 1955
Hello Members,
I have a family member whose body was
found in the Ohio River in Tell City in
Perry County on March 4, 1955.
Her name was Doris Ann Wilkinson ESTES.
Question # 1: Even though she lived in KY;
since her body was found in Indiana, would
the Death Certificate be in Indiana?
Question # 2: Do you think a story like this
would have been in the local newspaper?
If so, what is the name of the local paper.
Thanks for your brain power. (giggle)
