Glad to have been of some help. The trick about using married names as well
as maiden names when searching through marriages I learned the first year I
was doing research and found Charity Sandage marrying a Bolin in Perry Co,
IN -- yet I knew that she was Charity Kinder. I pondered over this since I
knew it was same person and that she HAD indeed later married this Bolin but
not sure WHY used married name instead of maiden. My cousin and aunt who
had been doing this for over 50 yrs (gen research) said this is often
because some counties required the CURRENT name and some the MAIDEN - and
even when an annulment or divorce occurred that they wanted the married name
since it was still their legal name (without name change) and most went by
that anyway because of children born to them. So I started searching for
all married and maiden names from that point on in marriages and also in the
births, deaths, etc. Amazing how much I found doing this.
Good luck in your hunt.
Oh -- forgot to mention that I glanced around the 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930
and found that none of the Scott family appears to have gone to N Dak until
1930 when Effie went to live there with her daughter and her daughter's
husband. Unsure who that was who bought the land - unless they went up
there, bought the land and went back to Missouri only to go there later
on -- or maybe they are like me -- just own land in another state without
living there or even in the state where the land is.
Happy Holidays, may blessings be given to all on this list as well as
Happiness, Safety, Good Health, Prosperity, and everything else they will
need now and in the coming New Year.

Thank you so much, Judy! This news to me. I had no idea how Josephine
Letcher came to attached to the family. Her name occurs on a list of
family birthdays but no marriage was recorded for Kitty and Robert in
the Bible or other pages so I had no idea about it.
And of course not knowing of the first marriage, the second was not
known either since she married this time under the name of Letcher.
The third we had founnd because that time she married under her maiden
name of Scott...which is interesting, perhaps suggesting divorce or
annulment.
You have been a big help and solved a mystery and given some leads for
new investigation. Thanks so much.
