Help! Sorry if this is quite a lengthy email but I wanted to put it
all out there to see if anyone can help. I've hit a brick wall and
from reading some of the posts, you guys enjoy a challenge :-) I am
looking for information on John George Nold (born abt 1823, died
1900-1910) who lived around Tobin Township in Perry County. (He
apparently went by his middle name "George.") I believe that he is the
brother of my gggrandfather - William Nold - who lived in Louisville.
I'm trying to accomplish several things here:
1) Verify the two are indeed brothers. I know they are connected
because William was a witness to John George's marriage (which occurred
in Louisville) but there is an age difference of about 20 years and
William had another brother going by the same name George (closer in
age also living in Louisville).
2) We have been unable to extend the family tree above William - who
immigrated from Germany. If John George is indeed his brother, then
maybe his death certificate could shed some light on who the parents
were.
3) I'd like to find out more about descendants of John George.
Here's what I know. John George married Mary Zeller. She died
12/5/1897. They were members of St. Peters Catholic Church in Perry
County. Thanks to Tony Collignon her obituary has been found (Maybe
some of you know Tony?) I have no death date for George, he was in the
Census in 1900, gone by 1910. I called the county records and they had
nothing on him between these years. A state search from 1900-1904 came
up empty and am hesitant to spend more $$ on another search right now.
John George and Mary had nine children: Sophia (b. 1846), Francis (b
1848), George (b. 1849), Mary (b. 5/11/1851), John (b. 1/11/1853),
Catherine (b. 1853), Caroline (b. 1857), Adeline (b. 1859) and Louisa
(b. 1863). The only info I have found on any of these is Mary. She
married Francis EBERLE and I have found 4 children. Nothing past that.
If anyone can find a death date for John George and has access to death
certs, or has any info on he and Mary's descendants I would really
appreciate hearing from you.
Sorry again for the length of the email...
Thanks
Bob Nold
