Abram Clark and Emma Gest did not marry in Perry Co. IN. They married 1
Oct 1872 in Cincinnati. Abram DeHaven Clark (one of 5 brothers) born Aug
1827, died 24 Sep 1900, and is buried in Cliff Cemetery, Cannelton. Emma
Gest Clark, born Mar 1848 Ohio, died 15 Feb 1916, also buried in Cliff
Cemetery.
Amelia Welby (Gest) Sulzer, b. Nov 1849 Ohio, d. Mar 1905, also Cliff
Cemetery.
Emma and Amelia's mother Mary Jane/Jackson Gest was living in the 1880
census with another son-in-law and daughter, Samuel Sulzer and wife Amelia.
Their mother, Mary J. died 9 Apr 1910, age 85y 14d, and buried at Cliff
Cem. She came to Cannelton ca 1852.
Dr. Paul Rust Gest, husband of Mary, died 10 Mar 1861 in his 43d year.
In answer to your query about Clark pottery -- There were 2 Clark potteries
in Cannelton, according Michael Rutherford's "Perry County, Then and Now".
The stories of these potteries are in his book, but it has copyright and
cannot be copied, so you need to write directly to him for copies of this
information. I will send his address to you.
