Beverly Gilpatrick and his wife Ingebird Brady Gilpatrick left Overton
County, TN shortly after the Civil War kicked up in TN. Legend has it
that as Ingebird drove the wagon across the Ohio River on a ferry,
Beverly swam to avoid conscription. They settled around Adyeville, IN.
Beverly was born in TN in 1828.
He and Ingebird had nine children.

3. John Spencer b. 1859 TN m. Mary Wilhite 1901 m. unknown ca 1882.
They had nine children (Joseph, Julia Leora, Nancy B. , Simon B. , Grace,
Emma, Unknown male, Ruth and Virgil)
4. George W. b. 1861 TN m. Florence Belle Hobbs 1886
5. Joseph L. b. 1866 IN d. 1884
6. William A. b. 1868 IN
7. Sarah G. b. 1871 IN m. George Hays 1890 Perry Co.
8. James Albert b. 1873 IN m. Laura Ellen Pierce 1899 Perry Co. They
had four children. (Female, Bertie, Berdie, Cecil Beverly)
9. Simon Beverly b. 1876 IN m. Lillie Elda Jones m. Minnie Layman
