Yes, thank you James.
I turned up an Ernest Smitson death record in SSDI as well, who appears to be the same
fellow.? He died in October, 1980, in El Paso, Texas.
But I never turned up anything further on his mother Susan (Wendell) Smitson.? Her sister
Minnie (Wendell) Vandiver relocated to White County, Illinois (1900) then Dunklin County,
Missouri (1910), then White County, Arkansas (1920) where she died in 1919.? Her sister
Ida (Wendell) Speedy apparently lived her entire married life in Crawford County with her
husband James Speedy, although she was buried back in Oil Twp. -- and I don't know if
her husband was buried with her there or not.? Then Susan's sister Emma (Wendell)
Enlow who divorced Samuel Enlow remarried David M. Taylor in 1900 and they relocated to
Warrick County where they apparently lived until after he died, and then in 1930 she is
found living in Gibson County.? Finally, Cyrus and son John Harmin Wendell relocated to
Stoddard County, Missouri between 1900 and 1910, where they lived and died.
But the fate of Susan Smitson remains a mystery.
Thanks for your help!
Don
