<<Does anyone do "rock jig-saw puzzles"? >>
Merle & I did a few of these puzzles at the New Trenton cemetery and learned
that my GGGrandparents had had three little boys we never knew about who had
died very young. We are very interested in repairing these, and would be
very interested in some tips or books available on the subject.
<<Has anyone tried to
photograph any headstones, had the film developed, and then tried to
scan
the negatives (not the developed picture) to see if the engraving would
come through?>>
Sounds like a good idea--please post the results if you try this. We can
sometimes see the inscription clearer in our video tape than we can in
person. With the Snappy software, we can experiment with color, brightness,
and contrast to try to bring it out. The colored chalk might work, too.
Sometimes, we just happen to get at the correct angle and can suddenly see
it very clearly.
We look forward to hearing about your progress and results!
