Scott,
I found a government cemetery document at the Indiana State Library.
The card catalog listed my Winchell cemetery and the file contained a great
find.
In 1942 the Ordnance Plant took over an entire township in our county, all
the farms had to be demolished to make way for the Government complex. So
the cemetery had to also be removed.
The first map was of Kingsbury Cemetery, the layout where Winchell Cemetery
was to be moved.
This was a blueprint of the official government map.
The second map was a blueprint map of all the graves as they were in the Old
Winchell Cemetery, names and dates...wow!!!!
The third map was where each Winchell grave was placed in the Winchell
section of the Kingsbury Cemetery. Now I have an identification number on
the map to see if I can get a copy from the government records. But just in
case the map disappears from the State Library I copied three maps 3' x 4'
completely.
That was worth my trip to the State Library, and it wasn't in the archives,
but the genealogy department.
