The following message is from the office of Chester F. Dobis, Speaker Pro
Tempore. Obviously it is from one of his assistants; nonetheless, it is a
"response".
Notice that the next legislative session convenes on JANUARY 5th.

Subject: Re: Indiana's Endangered Pioneer Cemeteries
Dear Ms. Mauk:
Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding the preservation of
our ancestors' burial places.
I, too, believe it is important that we respect and preserve our historical
treasures, including the final resting places of those who lived before us.
Our legislative session doesn't reconvene until January 5 and, at this time,
I'm unaware of any legislation that has been introduced to address this
question. I assure you, though, that if a bill dealing with this subject is
introduced and presented for a vote, I will keep your views in mind.
Thank you again for your input and best wishes for a healthy and happy
holiday season.
Chester F. Dobis
Speaker Pro Tempore
