I obtained today from the Indiana Historical Bureau a copy of "Destination .
. . The Cemetery". Interesting little publication (cost: $1.00; publication
#7020).
What really caught my eye was a reference to the "1940s Veterans Grave
Registration project of 51 counties in the Archives Division of the
Commission on Public Records, with each cemetery containing a veteran's
grave platted and then plotted on a county map; an alphabetical card file of
each veteran's name."
Any of you familiar with these records? For instance, I would LOVE to get a
copy of the listing for Clark County. How voluminous are records for a
typical county? Would it be possible (and financially reasonable?) to
request a copy for my county?
IHB has a catalog of really interesting publications and other goodies
(t-shirts, etc.). I recommend you contact them to request a copy of the catalog.
