Most of what you said is true, BUT I received it from a list with an attachment,
Cemetery-L , a root web sponsored list. It attaches to ANY address, including
list.
I did use Norton anti-virus and it was in two places. One was found,
quarantined and I deleted the file, the other one I had to shut down, turn off
comp. and reboot, it was found attached to Windows but was able to delete the
file, and all is well at this time. I'm glad I realized it the day I received it
and fixed it. I intend to run the the anti-virus every several days, for a
while.

Thanks, Ernie, for posting this message. I don't generally get
excited
about viruses because (1) so often the warnings turn out to be hoaxes and
(2) I feel pretty "safe" with messages coming through Rootsweb.
As most of you know, no one can successfully post a message to any group on
Rootsweb with any kind of attachment. This "firewall" (for lack of a better
term) might lull us into what is possibly a false sense of security.
